While many companies that were the leaders of the clean energy hysteria have dropped off, Warren Buffett and Berkshire Hathaway’s subsidiary MidAmerican Energy Holdings has been doubling down through the acquisition of wind farm projects. Low-cost natural gas that is extremely abundant has radically transformed the energy industry, but sources such as wind are likely to still be part of the future solution as long as they economical. Absurd subsidies for companies like Solyndra that went bankrupt doesn’t make sense and is not a productive use of capital. The United States needs to monetize the resources that we have as they are finite, and it doesn’t make sense to transfer such a vast amount of wealth to governments that are anti-America in several cases.
