While most people seem to be a lover of both Apple’s (AAPL) stock and products, the list of once dominant consumer electronics companies that have come down to earth, is long and distinguished.  One of the great things about the Steve Jobs regime is that they avoided costly misfires that can occur on any product, and on any cycle.  This remarkably consistent success has allowed the company to keep astronomical margins unlike any other consumer product electronic company in the world.  Time will tell if they can stay on this course without Jobs in the picture anymore.
