Chief Operating Officer

[/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”small” position=”left” color=”#00588e” transparency=”1″ thickness=”1″ width=”400″ up=”30″ down=”30″][vc_column_text]Peter Travis is the Chief Operating Officer and Director of Customer Relations at T&T Capital Management.  Peter cultivated his interest in finance from a young age.  Born and raised in Laguna Beach, CA, Peter showed an aptitude for business when he was in elementary school, reading the business section of the newspaper every morning, and, if there was time, the comics as well.  Captivated by some local and national businesses, he realized each company told a story.   Booms and busts came and went, but disciplined investors always came out on top.  The stories of the companies, their key talent, and the scions of investing fascinated Peter – no one more so than Warren Buffett.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”24px”][vc_column_text]Warren Buffett’s strict adherence to value investing and his incomparable results over time have proven to Peter that to be truly successful in investing over time, one must be a value investor.  Inspired by Buffett, Peter learned of other value investors, including Benjamin Graham.  Upon his first reading of Graham’s The Intelligent Investor, Peter turned what was an interest into a passion.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”24px”][vc_column_text]After high school, Peter travelled to the East Coast to attend the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, where he studied economics and finance.  After college, Peter worked as a broker for larger investment companies.  During this time, he learned how much he enjoyed working with his clients and how little the clients’ needs mattered to the firms.  The firms’ primary focus was on the bottom line, leading them to often pitch the most lucrative commission-related products to clients, rather than the products that were best suited for the investors.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”24px”][vc_column_text]Dismayed by his earlier experience with larger firms but still interested in finance, Peter obtained his Series 65 and became an investment advisor.  As an investment advisor, he would have a fiduciary duty to his clients.  As a value investor, Peter believes that the client’s best interests should be served first.  By serving their needs over the long-term, he understands that the clients will prosper, and he will benefit from their referrals, since they found a financial advisor they can trust.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”24px”][vc_column_text]Peter joined his brother, Tim Travis, to found T&T Capital Management in 2011, allowing them to focus on the best interests of the clients, investing their clients’ funds in the same investments as their own.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_empty_space height=”60px”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
